Un cuervo empolla los ojos de su padre
(
A raven broods his father's eyes)
2021

Mural project in which I reinterpret the work Hooded Crows (1891) by Bruno Liljefors. A reproduction of the original work was decorating the clinic where my father was admitted after a failed suicide attempt. The mural intervention was carried out with acrylic paint and a mixture of ground tablets (antidepressants, anxiolytics, antipsychotics and analgesics) usually prescribed to treat Major Depressive Disorder. The title of the exhibition alludes to the popular expression “raise crows and they will gouge out your eyes.”

Exhibited at Proyecto CAIMÁN, Guadalajara. April _ June 2022. Curated by Marco Valtierra
